Distribution of two different compounds between the exterior and interior parts of the tread
Exterior side: a “High Molecular Chain” elastomer of the right hardness for high grip; offering exceptional dry grip in tight bends
Interior side: a more rigid elastomer for precise steering and driving control
Reinforced external shoulder for improved endurance / track longevity.

Thanks to the use of a special mold machining process and its unique know-how, MICHELIN has created a new appearance for the sidewalls of the Pilot Sport Cup 2: “MICHELIN velvet sidewall”
This solution has made it possible to create contrast and shades of black giving a velvet look to certain sections of the external sidewall using micro-geometry techniques that absorb light
