The Spools are made of high quality aluminium (A6061). They were machine cut by a NC lathe and then heat treated. The outside of the spool was then covered with a thick coating of anodized aluminum to prevent corrosion.
The spool ring is made of Alloy A7075-T6, which is equally strong as aluminum but half the weight.
